Developing an Integrated Weed Management Orogram for the Landscape
Weeds are a constant nuisance in landscape beds and we do not have any “magic bullet” options that can be used safely in and around all of the ornamental species commonly used in the landscape. Information will be shared with the audience on how cultural practices (irrigation, fertilization, and even plant selection and spacing) can both contribute to and help avoid weed problems in non-turf areas of the landscape. Data on how mulch can be used and combined with herbicides for the best results will also be shared focusing on mulch selection, application, and which herbicides are most compatible with mulch from a weed management perspective.

Importance of Proper Equipment Maintenance
Proper maintenance of landscape equipment is essential for ensuring its longevity, performance, and safety. Regular upkeep, such as cleaning, oil changes, blade sharpening, and tire checks, helps prevent costly repairs and downtime. Well-maintained equipment runs more efficiently, reducing fuel consumption and improving productivity. It also minimizes the risk of accidents, as malfunctioning machinery can pose safety hazards. By keeping equipment in optimal condition, landscapers can enhance the quality of their work, reduce environmental impact, and extend the lifespan of their tools, ultimately saving time and money in the long run.
